Miss BKHS Illustration – Shampoo Memories

A Miss BKHS illustration of a little girl wearing a crown of fruit and flowers. She is placed in a floral picture frame above a set of shampoo bottles decorated with flowers and fruit. The image is reminiscent of 1960's teenage adverts

Isn’t the power of smell amazing!

One minute you’re fondling avocados in your local supermarket, the next you’re back in school showing off the latest novelty erasers and luminous fingerless gloves you and your mates bought at the weekend.

Why?

Because your nose picked up a scent, magically cross referenced it with an old memory and decided that you need a break from unripe avocados.

Again, amazing!

‘Shampoo Memories’ started out in the same way….my nose picked up on a hint of green apples and BOOM! memories of the apple shampoo my mum used on my hair when I was very young flooded in – including how much I hated having my hair washed back then.

Making good on smells:

To explore this shampoo memory further I challenged myself to create a 1960’s style shampoo advert for two shampoo scents I have enjoyed PLUS one I think would love…Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Thank you nose!
